Third seed Andy Murray raced into the fourth round of the US Open with straight st victory over Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci.
The 6-3 6-2 7-5 victory over Bellucci was a far better showing than his last game where his struggled to a five set victory.
The British number 1 needed 66 minutes less to brush Bellucci aside than he did against Italain Adrian Mannarino on Thursday
“It was very important today,” Murray said of his three-set win.
“My last match was extremely tough physically and mentally. It was a lot cooler today, which helps, and to get the win in three sets.
“I get a day to recover now and get ready for the next one.”Murray will now fcea familiar opponent in South African 14th seed Kevin Anderson in the last 16 on Monday.
The pair have met six times before now with Andy Murray claiming five victories.
